Update for: Announcement for 2011 Juried Art Competition Finalists

We are pleased to announce the winning finalists for the 2011 Juried Art Competition.

Update: We'd planned to have a grand prize announcement event and celebration in April, but due to construction issues with multiple contractors we got delayed beyond our last estimated date. Fortunately, most of it is taken care of by now, except the new flooring and live video feed infrastructure which should happen shortly. We are working to complete a feature for broadcasting the event live over the Internet and also broadcasting through different media outlets. This required us to install equipment for streaming video live from the gallery to the Internet (so our out-of-town artists could watch the event live) We could have just held a small event and distributed the prizes, but we're trying to hold an event which has maximum effectiveness for the artists' promotion.

We apologize for the delay; and promise to make it a successful event with a full PR announcmnet to different outlets. We should be able to hold the event and announce winners next month - more towards the end of the month, as we need to coordinate multiple things to make it happen.

Prizes are as follows:

Grand Prize: $3,000,with a representation in the physical gallery for 2 months and online gallery for one year, plus one full week paid accommodation for two in San Francisco
Second Prize: $1,500 with a representation in the physical gallery for 2 months and online gallery for one year
Third Prize: $500 with a representation in the physical gallery for 2 months and online gallery for one year
Special Recognitions (list below): $150 with a special representation in the online gallery with pre-paid visibility for a year [please check the website for a list of artists].

The gallery has gone through a major overhaul with the addition of an event lounge and a wine & champagne bar. The ongoing construction, which took much longer than anticipated, caused extra delay in finalizing and announcement of the competition. We hope to celebrate the winners and their artwork and help publicize their work through different media channels.
