Art was always as a hidden but inseparable part of me… Over years it has taken a frontal view and now it has taken possession of me, no longer do I have to chase after it, I know that it has hold of me forever…
I am an artist I loved to be with art, I loved to be painting when I was happy, not just happy but happy to the zenith, now I paint, so always I am in that constant state of excitement and celebration… Life is a celebration when art is a part of me. Or better said I am a part of art.
Now it’s an unending journey into new possibilities, innumerable possibilities. Sometimes celebrating life’s spectacles, sometimes questioning its various frames of meanings… I as an artist am always in search of new frames of mind….
Beginning gave me a direction of uniqueness… In the dominant world of figures in my surroundings, I started with figurative works in a very subdued way, even then the objects like blocks and lines were dominant and hold importance of their own on the canvas. These real objects from the natural world shared space on the canvas giving unparalleled meaning to the figures. Not very gradually, objects reduced the figures to mere representation of it taking equal footing on the canvas and the next canvas they surged to the main surface leaving the figures to vanish in the foreground, objects at one point had taken over completely. Now I wouldn’t call it a U-turn but yes it’s a turn and the living elements are again mapping my canvases once again.
What I paint does represent the natural world, but does so by capturing something of its immutable intrinsic qualities rather than by imitating its external appearance. In wider definition my works depicts real forms in a simplified or rather reduced ways – keeping only an allusion of the original natural subject.
Each canvas is a representation of the biped world, what oscillates from here to there, from presence to absence, from forever to never. The dividing line is of capital interest in as much as it serves as a regulator of the exchange in form as well as in content between the two parts of the painting and modulates the flow of one image into the other. It serves as an extension, that of a visual line, which permits the eye to pass from one without interruption to other superimposed image, or that of a theme in which a global composite image fuses a synthesis.
The living elements that strolls the space of my canvas are very much the part of our behavior system. Ant like humans live in societies follows the strict norm of hierarchy, believes in co-coordinating tasks, giving each other a helping hand and communication with each other is a very important part of their life. They gaze out of my canvases are a face of these natures of humans yet lonesome somewhere, strive for the company and a group else where busy in its journey supporting each other.
The eagles are also representation of the humans caught up in the daily chores or day to day life simply forgets his true nature. It’s a journey from losing the self to rediscovering it, society is the web of routine and obligation be it an obligation of hierarchy or caste system or house chores to work front it’s the responsibilities every where. You on the other side of it or getting there or an effort to get out of it…. Is it that simple?? It’s a question needs to be answered. I am making an effort through my canvases to get our awareness towards the upliftment of the positive nature of humans and the rediscovering of the true self… true and pure nature we born with!!
Every composition is a new in sense of experience and enjoyment it adds to my life. It’s an evolvement, with sense of achievement with every success to come up with something new after new. The journey towards exploration will always continue.
