| I was born in New York and grew up in the Bay Area during some pretty energetic times. Art seemed very important then. I was in adult shows as a child and won for the artist of the year at San Mateo High School. I have mainly been a street artist, painted and drawn portraits, and pencil portraits out of our school bus, and selling my art on cards, prints, hemp shirts in many venues, including the Bellevue Art Museum Show which sold 4 of my original paintings. I became a student of T.Y. Pang in 1995 and studied the Chinese Arts including painting, caligraphy, philosophy, and tai chi. The gallery in my salon, Chaplin Art Works was very successful in selling and promoting my artwork which by then was painted mostly on rice paper, and after a trip to China I became a teacher at Whatcom Community College for 6 years teaching classes in Asian Style Brush Painting. Since then I have shown my work at many openings at my studio at Loomis Hall until I recently closed it and I now work from home, on canvas with acrylic, hopefully maintaining the lively brush of the Asian Style.
