Originally from Lithuania, Ilona studied art at UC Berkeley & UCLA, graduating in 1968. She has been exhibiting in galleries across the country & abroad. Her work was shown at the San Bernardino County Museum, Ca. & the Museum of Fine Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania and can be found in private and corporate collections in the US, France, Canada,Japan,Hong Kong & Australia. "My landscapes, not intended to define specific places, are abstracted images influenced by my travels & surroundings. I relate to strong colors and simplified forms. In simplicity , I find a meditative quality which I value. The "Southwest" remains a major influence. Its vibrant colors & distinctive land forms invite abstraction." |
