| Marianne's personal mission is to ignite, inspire and direct energy for positive action. Her mission is evident in the vibrancy, movement and power of her painting style.
In the past year, Marianne began painting in a more abstract manner and has taken several classes to learn abstract and non-objective techniques. She often uses more than one medium in her work, combining watercolor, acrylic and some collage to create pieces that reflect her exuberant nature. Her paintings can now be seen in the Kuaba Gallery, Indianapolis, IN and the Ann King Gallery in Zionsville, IN. Marianne believes in giving back to the community. She often donates paintings to benefit some of her favorite non-profit organizations. To date she has donated paintings or profits from paintings to Ball State University, Children's Bureau of Indiana, Dress for Success, Girls Inc., Habitat for Humanity, Haiti Earthquake Relief, Joy's House, Make a Wish Fund, Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, Planned Parenthood, Prevent Blindness Indiana, St. Luke's United Methodist Church @ The Garden, United Way and Women's Fund. Marianne's paintings have been accepted in juried competitions sponsored by Hoosier Salon, , California Art Day, Indianapolis Art Center, International Society of Experimental Artists, International Society of Acrylic Painters, Midwest Abstract National Exhibit, Watercolor Society of Indiana, and Women's Works 2010. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Indianapolis area at Indianapolis Museum of Art, American United Life, Sullivan-Munce Gallery, For the Love of Art Gallery and Garfield Park Art Center, Indianapolis Monthly's Art House and Indiana State Museum. Out of state her work has been displayed at the Sarasota Art Center, PGA National Member's Club and the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Florida, the Old Courthouse Gallery in Woodstock, Illinois and the Learning & Art Expo in Pasadena, California. |
