| Self taught artist blessed with generations of artists and musicians in the family. Born in England and educated in Southern Ireland where the great river Shannon ran through the school grounds. Trained and graduated as a nurse but continued with her artwork doing commissioned work on the side. Michelle came to the USA in 2002 and settled in Ohio with her family.
Since her early childhood she has always had the desire to draw and paint. It was her means of escape from the real world whenever she felt sad or disappointed with life in general. Now Michelle is able to do for others with her art work that she originally set out to do for herself. Materials used: Acrylics on canvas, hardboard, paper and wood. Author of a paperback book published in the UK 1992. Michelle enjoys doing illustrations along with her writing. "It is said that music is the language of the soul... I say that art is the expression of the soul". Michelle likes to introduce bright and vivid colours into her art work as she believes that it helps to brighten the moods of those who are affected by the everyday stresses and strains of working day life. Michelle still works in the healthcare enviroment but not in nursing. Eventually she would love to just be able to paint continually and welcomes any commissioned work. As a twice breast cancer survivor she also believes that her paintings help as a form of relaxation and healing therapy not only for herself but for those who enjoy her works as well. |
