This 12 by 12 inch image on board was created by using the ancient process of encaustic painting.  Numerous layers of wax and pigment are fused together with a heating process - torch or electrical heating equipment.  A least one layer of wax was coated with shellac and burned with a torch in select areas.

Floating wood frame surrounds the encaustic painting.
