This 12 by 12 inch image on board was created by using the ancient process of encaustic painting.  Numerous layers of wax and pigment are fused together with a heating process - torch or electrical heating equipment.  Paper and material were collaged to the surface, and areas of wax were scratched and filled with oil paint sticks. Floating wood frame surrounds the encaustic painting.
