- Description: "Cold Day Fishing" is a scene from life. I took a photo of some people fishing on a pier in November. It was quite a cold day. Their stances, clothing and attention to their fishing caught my eye. It started out as a gouache painting, but became acrylic with successive layers. There are subtle patterns and textures in the work. The use of "people-shapes" without features keeps it from becoming specific people. It is more a mood and intention of purpose rather than a portrait.
