- Purple Hen 15"x22"
- Author: Mary McShane
- Description: Different colors of art tissue (colored by me with liquid acrylic paint) were layered on the paper. Some of the darks, blues and purples, were arranged in a way that suggested the hen. I added the chicks with more purple and black tissue. After much study, I added some paint to show the foreground and background. It is a fantasy about - "I never saw a purple hen, I never hope to see one. But if I have a say in it, I'd rather see than be one!"

- Radiance
- Author: ione citrin
- Description: 36" high x 24" wide - acrylic on canvas The sun is an important entity in all my work, whether it be realistic or abstract. To me, the sun is the beginning of life, the beginning of everything, the center of reality, and appears regularly in many of my paintings. While this abstract, "Radiance", doesn't depict the sun exactly, it is an abstraction of the radiance the sun exudes.
- RADIANCE
- Author: John (Solly) Sollinger
- Description: 16Hx20Wx1D inches Stained glass wall hanging RADIANCE is the first in a series of works based on natural, visible patterns in relatively pristine states. Inspiration came from a floral display in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, which was established to protect the incredible diversity of life forms in this small intersection of 3 bioregions at the OR - CA border. On center stage is a ridge-top cluster of mule’s ear* on a midsummer noon. RADIANCE was named for the radial pattern of the petals within each flower and the circular grouping of flowers in the clump, the play of light, and the sunflower, icon of the sun. It has been my honor to have it exhibited in the Smith Museum of Stained Glass on the Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, March - July, 2010. It received Best in Show at the Mosaic Arts International 2010. It was then exhibited at the Grand Rapids Public Museum from September-Oct., 2010. Finally, it is exhibited at the Art-Science Consilience exhibition at the Pence Gallery at the University of California, Davis, from January 14 to February 27, 2011. It has been on the home page of SAMA and its advertisement in Mosaic Art Now EIP 2010. Thanks to Rhonda Heisler, it made the covers of Profitable Glass Quarterly, Winter 2010 and Groutline, Winter 2010. *Arnica, a medicinal herb used to reduce inflammation in strains and sprains
