- Description: Description: Digital Print: 27" x 41" (poster size), edition size 500 MAP #1 History of the Birth Control Pill Map #2 A Century of Technology and Communications Research Process: The maps were the visual result of data collected from online surveys. Respondents answered questions about their perceptions and memories. The collected data was analyzed and grouped into categories. Those categorizes and the most significant inventions of the time-line were then visually mapped in a topographical format using historic dates instead of the stepps in a geographical map. Map#1 The Map of the Sexual Revolution is a visual comparison of the history of the birth control pill's invention and its long journey through political, and religious agendas finally emerging as a legal birth control medication for distribution and use. That chronology was compared to the timeline of the first and second wave women's movement which largely resulted in the sexual revolution. Map #2 The major inventions during the last century in technology and communications are mapped, along with respondents answers about how technology shaped culture.
