Profile
| Linda was born in New York and moved to California when she was young. She travedled a great deal and spent summers in Chicago. When she was in Chicago, she haunted the museums and learned from the masters. She studied at the Chicago Museum of Art.
Art has always been at the heart of her life even while she was earning a BA degree and teaching credential and throughout her working life. She studied Alphonse Mucha where she learned discipline, Jean Carbonetti broadened her use of color, and she studied with landscape artist Eileen Richardson. A temporary loss of sight in her left eye has imprinted and intensified her appreciation of color and image. Nature has always been her fascination and her close relationship with nature is expressed through her images and colors. Linda's appreciation of life comes out in her images and flights of fancy on paper. Her thoughts, feelings and poetry are translated into the color and composition of her work. Her work has been described in a variety of ways but the most consistent impression is one of vibrant colors combined with dreamy interpretation of life and imagination. What is unusual about her work is her combination of watercolor, ink and acrylics to accomplish the striking works. Linda's work has been used as the artwork for the Shakespeare Festival In The Park and on the cover of five Audiophile magazines that is the Valley Public Radio monthly publication. Her work was also chosen to represent the Central California Winegrowers Cornucopia at Chukchansi Park. She has worked on special projects which include "The Oncology Project" for cancer survivors, "Canoes About Town" sponsored by the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservatory Trust. She has worked with the Junior Philharmonic's painted violin project and the American Heart Association's "HeartBall" Finally she has received numerous awards in various Alliance of California Artists shows and several peoples choice awards at differnet venues. Linda has shown her work in a variety of venues in Fresno and the central valley including one person show in the Magaret Hudson Gallery, The Fresno Philharmonic at the Saroyan Theater, Artes Americas Museum, and The Fresno City Hall She has also had shows at the Red Brick Gallery in Ventura and the Danville Fine Art Expo. Her work appears in private collections in San Diego, New York, Belgium, San Francisco and throughout the central valley. |
