| I first"discovered" sculpture in 1999 at the street art fest: where I was deeply moved by the sculptures of renowned artist Laura Wambsgans( sculpture&painter).As it turned out Laura lived nearby and she encouraged me to try sculpture.Over time I discovered there is an ebb and flow to making sculpture,the physical and mental process can be very intense at times.I am always surprised at the emotion involved in making art. My table top size abstract works are a challenge to develop.I usually try very hard to utilize as much of the stone as possible.I have participated in the Santa Clarita Art Festival as a demonstrator for several years.Also I have won 2 first place and 2 second place awards,at the local art association shows.In recent years I have shown at a few art venues also. I continue to sclupt in my outdoor studio,weather permitting. |
